Learn to Filter

In a world of Pinterest and Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, it is incredibly easy to become overwhelmed with all the good ideas out there. There is one simple way I have found to work around this: become your own authority.
Okay, so this sounds way simpler than it might actually prove, but you can become your own authority on what is best for you and your family. Ultimately you get to choose which voices you listen to and which blogs and social media sites you give your time and attention to. If something is feeling overwhelming and forced, consider that it may be a "super great idea" you saw that worked for someone else, but is not working that well for you.
That being said, I believe that we have access to some of the greatest hacks and life-improving finds around. But there is absolutely no way you can fit every amazing, wonderful trick into your life and so you must learn to choose. Do not choose "do nothing". Instead, spend some time with God each day and let yourself be quiet, even for just a few minutes. That quiet will help you decide what things you are supposed to fit into your days and life and what things might be worth visiting at another point in your life.
When I am doing that things that truly work for me and my family, we are all much happier and calmer and things run smoother. Not completely smooth with no wrinkles, but smoother.
Learn to filter in your life and see what a difference it can make to live for yourself and your family and God.
