Moving is an interesting time because of all the tasks and projects that get added to your list on top of all the everyday living stuff. Every situation and timeline to move in will be different, but some general things to remember include the following:
1) Have a plan of attack. With so many new things flying at you and still needing to keep some kind of normal, having a plan will go a long way in saving some sanity. Make a decision to skip some of the "normal" things you do and decide how much and how often you will focus on the move.
2) Keep some things normal. Do not ditch the most important things in your life just because things get busy. You still need to have some ways to keep your calm. Even a few minutes of the familiar and routine can help in the most stressful days of a move.
3) Divide your lists into categories. Make a section for things you can do when children are asleep or not underfoot and things you can do right with them there. Make a section for improvements/fixes you need to take care of before you leave and things you need to purchase for your move. Having your list blocked out into sections will make it easier for you to jump into projects based on what time you have to work with that day.
4) Remember that you can do anything for a short amount of time. Moving, even short distances, is stressful. Remember that at the end of it all you will still have those relationships and some sort of normalcy will begin to start again. Hang in there for the crazy and remember to breathe.
