Rearrange For Holidays

What do you do when your normal activities and holidays collide? Do you skip things entirely, fit in what you can or move everything to another day? That is entirely up to you and largely depends on how much of the holiday needs your attention, if you will be in your normal routine or if you have company.

For this holiday, the 4th of July, I have decided to shorten my normal Monday cleaning and laundry day and shove the most important things from Tuesday onto Monday. That will leave the normal things, like dishes and ready for the day, for Tuesday but free up our time for parades, BBQs and fireworks. Since we will be home and we will not have company, it will be easy to have some normal and some fun. It really just depends on what you have scheduled and what is the most important things for you to get done that week. Sometimes you can push chores to other days, and sometimes it is easier to just get the most important things done on one day.

Having a plan and being able to change that plan to fit the activities of holidays is an easy way to not feel stressed and to not feel like you are drowning when the holiday festivities are over.
