Invitations

Here's a simple break down of how you might handle invitations. Often these require a RSVP and there are usually other steps to be taken.

Your child receives an invitation to a friend's birthday party.
First, you would check the calendar and see if it is feasible for your child to attend.
Second, call or text back if there is an RSVP on the invite. If I get to this step late at night, I will make a task on my calendar for the morning: "RSVP for party".
Third, make a note to buy or make a gift. No matter when the event is, making a note to buy the gift the next time you are shopping can save you some trips to the store.
My daughter recently received an invitation to a party. I was ordering groceries and things online from Walmart and was able to just add a present to the order and pick it up the next day. That was pretty slick.
Fourth, put any information regarding the party in your calendar and task list. For example, put the event in your calendar. If there is anything needed to bring to the event, make a note of that and even add an alarm if necessary.
Fifth is optional, but sometimes it is the one thing I struggle with. Wrapping the gift. I will generally make a note to wrap the gift because I really do not enjoy feeling rushed and late as it is time to be leaving for the event. If it is wrapped a few days prior, that is off your mind and you are ready to go.
