One friend, with a very busy and specific weekend coming up, told me how she usually just lets things slide to the end of the week and it all piles on her at the end. This time, with this one major event coming up, she made herself push through her list and was completely on top of things and even a little ahead of her plans and had some free time, completely guilt-free, to enjoy the week with because she was making her week top-heavy.
Another friend mentioned just how very busy Mondays and Tuesdays were.....and then quickly added that she likes it that way because she then knows she can look forward to calmer days and knows she has a little bit of wiggle room if something comes up. I completely agree! Having the beginning of the week be a little more full and busy really does open up your week and gives you some room for attending to more creative things, taking some time for yourself or being available to help someone in need.
On the same note, make your days top-heavy as well by jumping right in and accomplishing the worst-to-you first. Getting those things off your mind and list makes the rest of the day a little easier because you already got the hard things done and have the easier things to push through and think about.
