Nearly everyone says multi-tasking doesn't work. Our brains do not flip back and forth very easily and need time to catch up and get back into the mode we just left after we are interrupted, even intentionally.
However, my HUGE exception I'd say to this rule is audiobooks. Listening to audiobooks or podcasts can be done while driving, working out, cooking or baking, and any other time you have that doesn't need your full brain attention.
Listening to audiobooks can give you a chance to expand your world, keep up on important events, and bring light and understanding to your life in ways that skipping audiobooks will leave you void of. If you have never tried audiobooks before, start today! I have family members that love audible, but if you're not sure if a paid subscription will work for you, do what I do and use your library's overdrive account to quickly and easily put audiobooks into your hands any time of the day.
Save the texting for when you're not driving and the phone calls may need your undivided attention, but pick up some audiobooks to bring into your life today!
I haven't done audiobooks, but I feel like I should! Overdrive is a good idea, I need to try that. I feel this same way about podcasts, I listen to those a lot throughout my day.
